St Mary's Church

St Mary’s is a Chapel of Ease in the parish of Warton, built to serve Borwick and Priest Hutton. It was built between the two villages in the 1890s, funded by the Sharp family whose descendants still live in Borwick.

The church is a simple building, with fine pews and excellent stained glass windows by Shrigley and Hunt of Lancaster.

The church is able to use the Borwick and Priest Hutton Memorial Hall, which is just over the road, for parking and to hire for occasional events.

Covid-19 Coronavirus Response

Now that all services and activities have been suspended and our church buildings shut, we are invited to come together 'in spirit' by joining in the common prayer of the Church from our homes.

Download the Morning Prayer sheet from the link below and join the Vicar at 9.15am each morning.

We have recorded the service of Night Prayer for you to share in each evening at a time that suits you. You can watch it via this link: https://youtu.be/2r1vSxfgoZM. Download a copy of the service booklet from the link below.

Each Sunday we intend to livestream a service at 10.30am. You can watch and share in last Sundy's service (29th March) via this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDOFW97GAhc. Download a copy of the service booklet from the Resources section of the website.
