Parish of Yealand Annual Meetings
To take place on Wednesday 21st September at 7.00pm at St John's Church
The annual meetings are an important occasion in the life of the church community. There are two meetings, the Annual Meeting of Parishioners, followed by the Annual Parochial Church Meeting. At the meetings we elect those who will share in the leadership of the parish for the coming year and we have the opportunity to reflect together on the past year and to help think about the future life of God’s church in the communties served by St John's in the Yealands. To share in the leadership of God’s Church is an important function and everyone is encouraged to consider prayerfully if they are being called by God to serve in this way. We hope as many members of our communities as possible will come to these meetings.
The Annual Meeting of Parishioners is open to everyone resident in the parish (this includes Yealand Conyers, Yealand Redmayne and Yealand Storrs) and those on the church electoral roll. The agenda for this meeting is the election of two Churchwardens for the parish.
The Annual Parochial Church Meeting is open to those on the church electoral roll of the parish. Others may attend as observers, but cannot vote. The agenda for this meeting includes the election of two representatives of the parish to the Deanery Synod and six representatives to the Parochial Church Council (PCC). This meeting also receives the Annual Report and Financiala Statements for the year ended 31st December 2019.
The Annual Report and Financial Statements for the year ended 31st December 2019 can be found here.
The meetings will take place in St John's. Covid-19 safety measures will be place and there will be room for a maximum of 30 people.
