Call to Pray and Give
Call to Pray and Give to help your church in these difficult times
Update on Wednesday 9th December 2020
Thank you to everyone who supported our involvement in the Diocesean Call to Pray and Give initiative. The special appeal has now closed. We are very pleased to announce that £4,391.25 was donated which will help to bolster our church reserves at this challenging time.
The original informaiton about the appeal is below.
This has been a very difficult year for all of us in different ways. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has made us appreciate those things in our lives which are of greatest value.
The life of the Church has also been greatly affected, including our income which has fallen significantly during 2020 as we have been unable to hold our usual range of activities and fundraising events or to receive collections at services.
In response to this situation all the churches across the Diocese of Blackburn are making a special appeal under the Bishop’s Call to Pray and Give. We are asking those whose who able to make a one-off donation in support of the Church in the Benefice to help reduce the shortfall in our income and enable us to sustain the life of our churches in the months ahead.
A letter from the Vicar about the Call to Pray and Give can be found here.
Everyone is invited to offer special prayers each day from 12th November until 29th November. The prayer diary from the Diocese can be found here. Each day there will be a service of Evening Prayer at 7pm via Zoom, led by one of the Bishop’s leadership team. All are welcome to share this time of prayer. Please contact the Vicar to obtain the Zoom invitation link.
If you are able to help you can make a donation online or by cheque. To give online please visit our Call to Pray and Give donation page or scan the QR code below. To give by cheque please send/deliver to the Vicarage, addressed to “The Treasurer”; please make the cheque payable to "PCC of Warton" (the money has to be paid into a single church bank account, but will benefit the Church across the Benefice).
Thank you very much for your support of the Church in our Benefice.
