Should we aim to keep 6 issues a year or revert to 11? Or is there some other model we could use?

When you’re in a hole ……Let’s keep with 6 given the resource available. Hilary has never heard anyone complain about bimonthly.

Me again. I think 6 bumper editions that are a good read will be much more efficient than diluting the resource over 12 issues.

6 annually is efficient in some ways but only works if contributors get copy and artwork in sufficiently early to be fair to editors, and if editors are willing to include/promote events just beyond that edition. Example: A May 3 fundraiser should be promoted in a March-April edition, it is way too late to start promoting May 3rd in the May – June edition (which often goes out late). In this same example I got artwork in by Feb 10, but my artwork was excluded from the March – April edition so my event missed vital exposure. Jodie

This has been discussed at length previously so why change again , a retrograde step .

As a past editor (briefly) of the Parish news, I can appreciate the work involved.
The minimum number of issues is perhaps four, linked to the church seasons?
Advent, Christmas/Winter, with event details agreed at November PCCs
Lent, Easter, AGMs/Spring, with event details agreed at January PCCs
Summer, with details of new PCCs, concerts, churchyard events
‘Back to School’, Harvest, All Saints, Remembrance/Autumn, with event details agreed at September PCCs

I think the fewer there are, the less relevant they will become – a bit like the number of church services. But clearly we are limited by the manpower and so I for one am grateful to those who give their time. Thank you.
