Annual Meetings 2023
Annual Revision of the Church Electoral Rolls
Each year we revise our Church Electoral Rolls for each of the two parishes. A copy of the legal Notice of Revision of Church Electoral Roll for the Parish of Warton can be found here and for the Parish of Yealand can be found here.
Being on a Church Electoral Roll is a way of signifying, firstly, a commitment to the Church of England and secondly, an undertaking to the Church in our Benefice through a specific connection with either the Parish of St Oswald, Warton and St Mary, Borwick or the Parish of St John, Yealand. This undertaking should indicate a willingness to make a contribution to the life of the Church. Such a contribution does not just mean ‘giving money’, although our church does need such a resource, but ideally giving of yourself, for the sake of God’s Kingdom.
The period of revision for 2022 begins on 3rd April and ends on 26th April.
A copy of the 2022 Roll for the Parish of Warton & Borwick can be found here. Any errors should be notified to Mrs Marjorie Ashton, the electoral roll officer for the Parish of Warton & Borwick.
A copy of the 2022 Roll for the Parish of Yealand can be found here. Any errors should be notified to Mrs Jean Tunnicliffe Wilson, the electoral roll officer for the Parish of Yealand.

Forms can also be obtained from each of our churches or from the appropriate electoral roll officer: Marjorie Ashton for the Parish of Warton & Borwick; Jean Tunnicliffe-Wilson, for the Parish of Yealand.

The annual meetings are an important occasion in the life of the church community. There are two meetings, the Annual Meeting of Parishioners, followed by the Annual Parochial Church Meeting. At the meetings we elect those who will share in the leadership of the parish for the coming year and we have the opportunity to reflect together on the past year and to help think about the future life of God’s church in the communties served by St Oswald’s and St Mary’s. To share in the leadership of God’s Church is an important function and everyone is encouraged to consider prayerfully if they are being called by God to serve in this way. We hope as many members of our communities as possible will come to these meetings.
The Annual Meeting of Parishioners is open to everyone resident in the parish (this includes Warton, Millhead, Borwick, Priest Hutton, Tewitfield) and those on the church electoral roll. The agenda for this meeting is the election of two Churchwardens for the parish.
