St John's Church
St John's Church is a lively village church, and we look forward to welcoming you to worship, which is usually centred on the Eucharist in a friendly and relaxed environment.
The villages of Yealand Conyers, Yealand Redmayne and Yealand Storrs, with a combined population of about 500, are in the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty at the very north of Lancashire.
St John’s aims to serve the local community of the Yealands as fully as it can. The church building has been altered over the last few years and it now hosts a wide range of events in addition to regular church services. The flexible space and kitchen area mean that events and their associated refreshments can be held in the same place. This is increasingly popular for special services such as baptisms and funerals. A local caterer is available if necessary.
The environment is viewed as a priority and we have installed solar panels on the roof. We have recently replaced the ancient electric heating system with a system based on an Air Source Heat Pump in order to save on running costs, make the building feel much more comfortable all of the time, allowing it to be used at short notice, and be kinder to the environment. The new developments have been funded by donations from the local community, fundraising activities and grants. We are very grateful to everyone who has supported us.
There will always be a welcome for you at St John's. Please do look around our website, or better still come to visit us, and if we can be of any help to you please do contact us.
